HOWEVER, if this was a cell phone from the future, the radio waves from the cell phone could, might, should go back along the same path the phone came from. Therefore the radio waves WOULD still be usable. Unfortuately the conversation would have to be with someone in the present only.

If you ever watch Stargate Programs they do that there all the time. Right though a time or space warp.
