I picked up $20 in nickels on Saturday and I just had the chance to search through them. I didnt find anything too spectacular but I did find a 1996 $5 Jamaican Coin.

Nickels are by far my favorite rolls to search. Still no War Nickels though...

I like searching nickels. I can look through them quickly and they aren't small like dimes. You get a hot box once in awhile and find silver, Buffs, and liberty Vs. Keep us posted.

Does anyone have any tips for finding Buffalo nickels (not the new ones) in rolls? i.e. checking big banks or rural banks? I assume its just a matter of luck, but I just thought I would ask...

I live in a highly populated suburban area. I get my boxes from a federal credit union who uses Brinks as their provider. I have only found 2 buffalos in $1060 of nickels. It is luck of the draw more than anything. The more coins you go through the higher the odds are of you finding one!

Yesterday I cracked open a roll of nickels at work, I had 2 buffalos in the same roll, and it was a NF String & Son roll... crazy hard to find 2 in the same row! They must have been from the same collection since they had the same red number on them in pen/sharpie
