Before wavy steps were considered DDR's. Now they are declared as non DDR's. Why was this so? Will the collection of those who invested in this corrected misdeclaration be put to waste? I shall greatly appreciate any reply to this queries.

I noticed that on some websites I go to...I hate to say it but I think they probably lost their value...I am fortunate that I mostly Coin Roll Hunt rather than buy "newer" coins...You could always sell them on ebay...but be fair and don't label them as DDR's...Maybe just the Year and say "Wavy Step Penny"...you might get something back for them but I wouldn't expect much...Just my novice opinion..Good luck

Thank you for the reply Jayman931. Selling items declared and misdeclared is taboo to me. Experts also fails sometimes. Don't you think so?
Rest in Peace

I think folks are just plain tired of all the minor errors the mints are producing and going back to the major ones. Of course one saves what he likes.

even as I have been learning to search for varieties, I found the "wavy step" so subtle that I couldn't even perceive them. therefore I found them not very interesting to search for. as stated earlier, if you got yours form roll searching, then you are really out only your "hobby" time. otherwise, you probably lost your investment money.

Here is a Wavy step I found in a mint set:
Wavy-Steps-In-LMC's?
I would still keep them. They are not doubled dies as the pattern is not a direct transfer from the die. But they do occur from strike to strike. I feel a designination will someday be added and interest will become stronger again. So I still/will save them.
