This is the best I can do. Any chance you can enhance it, and maybe close ups of date & liberty. Ever since Metalman mentioned 18/17 I keep seeing that 7 under the 8. Could be all in my mind. Would like to post a decent picture and let the forum members give there opinions.

Hi Stmpcol

I can see the line through the bottom of loop of the eight, and I get an impression the there is also something in the top loop but the pic cant be blown up with out pixelating to the point of no definition.

I will be looking forward to the QX-5 images.

Sorry, stmpcol, I couldn't make it sing for me. I will say, though, that most 1918/7's are pretty darn obvious even in relatively poor shape. The overdate should be visible in a photo of the size you posted, most noticeably the insides of the 8 being flattened into "D" shapes.

Thanks fellas. Doesn't have the D shape loops of the 18/17 but there is extra metal inside both loops, left bottom outside of 8, outside of upper loop of 8 on right side and all across the top of 8. Will post again when I can get if magnified to show details.

Looks great Bryan, you can see some of the extra metal in the loops of the 8 on that one. Still need to get it magnified to see the doubling on the date, liberty and the profile of the indians face. Bryan, have you ever sent any of your morgans out to be attibuted? If they can't identify it do you still get charged? What happens if it's a new varity?

I have sent some Morgans to be attributed but I always knew what VAM they were before I sent them in. About the question of a new VAM, well that is a little different, the coin has to be attributed by the experts before it is submitted and encapsulated. With Morgans you send it to Leroy Van Allen and if its new he will assign it a VAM number, then (this part I am not 100% positive of) ANACS may attribute that specific VAM as long as you send them the paper work from Mr. Van Allen stating the attributes of the VAM (the other TPG's doesn't follow this procedure and they only slab "popular VAM's where ANACS attribute just about all of them). I think there are other firms like coneca (or how ever its spelled) for other types of coins to give them some type of overton number or what ever Mr. Van Allen is Morgans only but its can be a long and heart breaking process (because even though you mat see something the experts may disagree)
