A similar thread has started regarding building a U.S. Type Set, so that is my inspiration for asking here for suggestions. I would like to build a Canadian Type Set, and I am starting completely from scratch.

Which dates of the various types would best represent the different coins, striking a balance between rarity and overall quality? What dates are the often overlooked gems that stand out as attractive, yet reasonably priced examples of each type?

Any help would be appreciated!

You can find brand new Whitman folders at Brooklyn Gallery (I order them online).

I appreciate the help SSP, but I am looking for a Canadian Type Album, not folders. Brooklyn Gallery didn't have them, but thanks for the lead.

Try putting together a Key date type set. For example 1890H ,1894 half dollar for the Victoria years, a 1904, 1905 half dollar for the Edward years. A 1932 half dollar for the George V years. And if you gave the means a 1921 half dollar for the George V years. There are also a lot of other key dates and semi key dates to consider. Check out the Charlton Canadian price guide and have fun. Canadian coins have one of the most beautiful design.
