I went to the bank today and had a cashier's check made out to a coin dealer. The girl who wrote the check asked me if I collect coins. I said yes and she said she had something that I may want. She went to the back counter and took a 1936 S Buffalo nickel full date with full flat horn from the back counter. I asked her how much and she said five cents. Without a doubt I thanked her and told her how appreciative I was. I go to this bank because it's a nice little neighborhood bank and today it proved to be a good choice. I'm moving all of my holdings to that bank after today.

Very nice. I have not found anything cool at a bank in quite some time.

Finding a bank like that is a rarity indeed! My bank just started to charge $4.25 per box of coins!

Finding a teller that sweet is worth at least three fruit!

My tellers have so far only saved IKES for me (said they were halves), and at another bank the teller asked why I take out boxes. I said to look through them and I asked if he had any loose halves. He said no but asked if they were silver be fore a certain date, 1970 he said? So I says "yes" all silver before 1970 and I was kinda dissapointed. However, he didn't seem like the type who knew exactly what I was taking about.

Also, we got to talking about copper pennies and I said they made them in '82. So I hand the guy some pennies to make up for the dump and one of them is '82. He says "well this one is '82" and I say yeah I know but I can't tell which is which zinc or copper. he spent some time looking at it, I simply hope he doesn't hoard every copper penny he gets at the bank cause that would be a LOT and the manager would probably crank at him.

Next time you go in take a box of chocolates with you and tell the tellers that's for them.

I already planned on that. Even if the chocolates are more than the nickel it's the thought that counts

Your really lucky. Around where I live I'd be lucky to see the same teller at a bank for more than two times. Turnover in the bank teller position it rapid here. Keep on talking to her. Who knows what else she will get for you.

The weight will tell you. The 95% copper cents weigh about 3.1 grams. The Zinc coins weigh only 2.5 grams.
