I was looking through this seller's inventory. I really like a lot of his slabbed keys, and he is asking very reasonable prices. I was actually considering making an offer on one, and I came across this: http://cgi.ebay.com/1956-D-LINCOLN-...em3a682642a9I am still lost. 21 mill? I thought maybe he was joking about the price, but then there are like 14 offers that have all been declined. Anyone see something that I don't? I guess I could ask, but how does sending a 5 cent in to be slabbed suddenly make it rare just because no others are slabbed?

I think the high price is because he doesn't know why anyone would slab this. But that doesn't mean it is worth that much.

But really, why would anyone slab that?

Quote: But really, why would anyone slab that? I guess someone could want a POP 1 coin...lol. I mean, he's got to me joking with that asking price when everything else he is selling is so reasonable, I just don't understand why there were so many offers. Maybe all the offers were like .01 or .02 cents, and he wants at least .05.

I wouldn't pay more than $20,000,000 for it, asking $21,000,000 is just plain greedy!

My guess is that he initially posted it on April 1st.

Maybe it was a coin that was special to someone. I had my dad's dime slabbed because he treasured it. When I look at this little 1964 d in its slab, it reminds me of how he appreciated the small things...
That dime is priceless to me.

My take: He finds it a bit absurd and humorous so he decided to run with it knowing folks like us would get a kick out of it.

Maybe its for attention? I ended up looking at a bunch of his other listings after seeing this.

I think someone last year had a Sac. Dollar Pf69 or something like that (don't recall the exact details) listed for 50k because it was a pop. 2.
But 21M - obviously he just wants to be at the top of the page when people put highest price first, which will draw people to look at his other auctions.

It's his way of drawing attention to his coin business and if we're talking about it, it seems to be working. Quote: I guess someone could want a POP 1 coin...lol. Guess what! Well, I for one am going to keep an eye on this one. If it sells, I have a whole pocket full of change that I will send in to get slabbed. I'll make a fortune!!

Might be a typo where the ( . ) is about 10 places to the wrong direction.
