One I have been meaning to take shots of for awhile now
heat wave is as bad as winter, Stuck inside.
Just wanted to share it with the group and ask
if anyone knows what would make nickle tone like that on the
reverse. it was like that when I purchased it a couple of
years ago. I could not pass it up for the amount of detail
and for the price. Also since I was a child one of my favorite stories
about coins was the racketeer nickle story.
Then of course after I upload it to the account I notice the
dust on the reverse of 2x2 that it is in

I'm thinking the coin lay forgotten for a long time, partially covered over the untoned areas of the reverse. Like maybe on the floor of a closet or something. In the right environment, even toning that dark could be the product of only a couple years.
