Hey guys, hope everyone is enjoying their sunday.

Anyway, I have this rare 1972 Bahama Islands Silver Proof Set. In total its 3.5 full ounces of silver.

However, I'm having a lot of trouble categorizing it on ebay.

I don't know whether to post it in the Bahamian coin section, the foreign silver section, or the world mint set sections.

I was thinking the silver section at first, just because any silver collector knows the value of 3.5 ounces of silver. But then I thought, some silver collectors are hesitant buying silver they don't really know about, and due to the uniqueness of the set it may be something most silver collectors turn away from.

So I ended up putting in the bahama coin section, hoping the people there know the value of silver.

there's the listing.

I would appreciate any insight or help regarding which section is the best to list the product in - selling wise....

So, this kind of ties into another thread I just posted in. About the confusion between oz and troy oz. Not to pick on you, but you are handy ...what is a "FULL" oz? Is that a troy oz?

I think do set it up spot on. You pointed out the key info, the silver content, and you listed it in an area I would have, hoping it would draw the most interest there....

I have seen these sets before, and they were listed as you have....

Category selection could be the difference from a sell and no sell, but KEY WORD searches finds hunters what they seek in the end....

You have all those key words covered in year 1972, amount of coins in 9, and total silver content in 3.5 oz., good luck!

People also know those sets from the Bahammas have that silver content, compared to my birth year proof set from 1974, which is worth about 10 bucks, lol....

In the end, views and watchers tells the tale on ebay. If I have something listed to high, no one views or adds to list. Does not mean they wouldn't like to have, just not gonna pay until it hits the price they desire. I drop my listings five bucks or so, until I draw the interest and then I know the item wil sell. And then the questions and offer emails start to come in....

Nope. He did list the grams at 99.42. Divide that by 3.5 ounces and you get 28.4... so not Troy ounces. Divide avoirdupois ounces by about 1.1 to get Troy ounces, so about 3.2 Troy ounces in this set.

I had to relist it because the description was not showing up all the time. And full is just a marketing term - full means exactly what it sounds like - 3.5 whole ounces of silver lol...no mills or plated crap

theres the new ad
