I said eye appeal because thats the closest option to my most important factor. If it don't reach out and speak to me and give me the Oooohhh and WOW factor, I pass.

It's hard to answer a poll like this with so many options.
Of course eye appeal is going to be a primary consideration, because no sane collector tastes their coins or scoots them along the tile floor to see how well they slide, like we did back in junior high.
For me, price and type of metal have equal weight. I will buy a less-attractive coin if priced cheaply, and silver is of more interest than base metal.

Before looking at the list, two came to mind.
Eye appeal, price.

I chose eye appeal because if it doesn't look good, I probably wouldnt want it in the first place. But price is a close second.

Eye appeal would be number 2 for me. I have to go with scarcity since I collect world coins. There has been some coins that I have only seen one in my life and I wish I would have bought because I have never seen another.

Well since I replied before I answered the poll it won't let me vote, so just put a check next to scarcity for me

Scarcity => followed by eye appeal => followed by filling the empty spot in my coin holder ...

Obviously, the scarcity = $ worth, so this is what everybody loves (owning a rare coin)

Secondly, eye-appeal is very important, for if you're like me, you are constantly hovering over your albums and leafing-through the pages (so proud of your little, round friends), and yes I have a few eye-appealing favorites!

But the bottom-line is => "I don't have one of those, but I need one!" => "that drives me"

If I can purchase a coin I want/need for a discount I'll take it. I've even gone to the ATM machine to score one.

As an OFEC collector, I had to vote "country of origin". If it's from a weird, unusual country I don't yet have or I've never heard of before, I'll pay moon money for it, even if it's in awful condition.

Probably going to have to go with what I will get in return. If its both personal satisfaction of having that coin in my collection and then selling it for 10x more, its win-win! hah

I buy on one factor - discount. I'm in coins only for the investment side of things, so when I see a coin 20% or 30% off of market value, I snap it up. I don't get too excited about anything outside of discount.

Eye-appeal, without a doubt, and it has cost me. I mostly stay off ebay for that reason... Oh, look at that beauty, I have to have it! I'll just bid so high that no one could possibly outbid me!

It appears I am in good company. Eye Appeal is the most important to me. It is always viewed in the context of the other coins in my collection. I want to know if it fit in or will it stand out for being too different.
