Are there any coin albums currently available that display both the obverse and reverse of the coin? I really love the reverse design on wheat pennies, and would like to show it off.

Dansco & Whaitman & Shield Intercept albums (as opposed to folders) do this.
There is no law that you have to showcase the obverse. You can put your wheaties in the album so that the reverse faces the front.

Thanks for the quick replies!
I realize that I don't have to place the coins obverse-forward, but then the date isn't viewable. I guess that's just my preference, is all.

well, I meant when you get your two-sided album, you can show off the reverse. One of my buffalo albums is like that -- showing off the buffalo herd.

I mix and match. For my Lincoln cents album, for example, I have the reverse showing for the Philadelphia issues, because it doesn't have a mint-mark to show, and then the Denver and San Francisco have the obverse showing. For coins with mint-marks on the reverse, like my Buffalo album, I reverse that.

that's a great idea wifo -- a good way to display both sides of the coin in your album!

Ah, gotcha... sorry for the confusion. Yeah, I would definitely do that (show off the reverse) in a Dansco album.

All the regulars on here are Dansco, so maybe you've come to right or wrong place, depending on your allegiance! There's a few Whitman adherents, but even they are gradually switching to Danscos... Practically no one on here uses or endorses the Littleton or Intercept Shield albums. I bought an Intercept Shield album as a lark last year, and the slides came every which way and looked haphazardly put in the album, which probably wasn't going to be good long-term for the coins, so I promptly returned it. Nothing beats a Dansco, album-wise.

Just a point of clarification... All albums (Dansco, Intercept Shield, Littleton, Whitman) allow view of both sides of the coin. The folders are the ones that show only one side. For the record, I prefer Dansco.

OH, so you all suspect there are different makers of Albums besides Whitman? I've heard those rumors but thought they were just rumors. I'll look into that one. Although this forum is sort of tipped a little towards Dansco, and a few even mention Whitman and a few others, still there are many other Albums out there. These Dansco people are everywhere. US Mint Albums Harris Albums Cornerstone Albums Super Safe Albums Lighthouse Ablums.

you left out shield intercept.
Consider choosing the one whose color best matches the coins

I think most albums show both sides, its the folders that only show one side of the coin
Edit: I see jbuck has beat me to it, but to tell the difference, albums have pages like a book and folders just fold open

Yet another vote for.... DANSCO! I also really enjoy the obverse of the Wheat cent! I just wish I had a better system to put my hoard of wheat pennies in! Right now I just have them in jars arranged by decade.. ha
