I went to my favorite flea market on Sunday and stopped to talk to a coin dealer. I bought a full set of the State Quarters that were put out by the Postal Commemorative Society. There are quarters and stamps for each state. All fifty states and six territories (112 coins) in sleeves and in two nice blue albums, for only thirty five dollars. I think that I did pretty good.

I generally find that to be true (overpriced flea market coins), however, many sellers are willing to deal and just price them for people who will buy at sticker price. I don't feel comfortable enough in buying coins though (i.e., identifying fakes, knowing "real" market value, etc.) without my Internet tools that I don't often buy anything at a flea market unless I'm relatively certain I'm getting a fair deal.

If those are all in Mint State condition, you really did great for that price. You said Albums. Not Folders I hope. If in real Albums, you really did great.

I'm not a big fan of the Postal Commemorative Society. Lots of the older coin albums they put out are full of problem coins. Having said that the way they present the coins makes for an interesting & informative collection, & the modern coins are generally uncirculated.

You might want to check ebay. These albums come up every now & again......I've seen actual sale prices in the $70-180 price range. I'm pretty sure the issue price on that set was $14.95 for each album page.

Congrats! I had a similar buy to aquire my dansco album with the 112 coins. I bought it on an auction on ebay. Usually I NEVER NEVER NEVER buy anything on ebay. but with a few minutes left I saw the bid at 30$ + the 5$ shipping so I decided to bid 35$, and I won it. So I could not complain getting the entire set for 40$, all in really good condition, as well as getting a dansco album!

Another nice find. In your case, the Dansco album is well worth the $12 above face.
