I haven't collected dollars much and am not very confident in my grading proficiency in them, so I'd love to hear some opinion on what this one might grade at! Thanks in advance!

Nice looking high relief. I'd put it in the MS62/63 range.

I think that has one of the sharpest strikes that I have seen for that date. I would guess MS-63.

i agree, really strong strike for this date. the hair and eagle feathers usually show a very weak flat strike. I'll say ms62-63

Thanks, that's about where I was thinking but I was worried I was overgrading it. MS63, or at worst MS62, was my thoughts. I've seen some certified 62's and 63's both that aren't as crisply struck and look more marked up as well. I'm really happy with the price I paid for it.

Anyone know why they made the "U" in TRUST a "V" on the obverse for Peace dollars, but all four on the reverse are just plain Us? Kinda funky!

the V is used instead of a U as part of the architectural alphabet, there are some buildings that were built in the early 20th century with this also. In Latin the U and V are the same and he 20th letter in the alphabet they are both consonant and a vowel. The word Venus would have been spelled as Venvs, first V would sound like Veee (consonant) and the second v sounds like uh (vowel)

I plagiarized this from another site just to answer this question

In the "I kid you not" dept, people actually paid more for the following 2 coins than what I did for mine! Never ceases to amaze me what some folks will buy!
