I like it. I wonder if they get any takers? Is this at a store by your house or what?

interesting, but the sign does NOT say how much face value you need of silver for 1 gallon of gas- I wonder if that is a potential problem in terms of advertising. I thought gas stations had to disclose price per gallon clearly, and that sign falls short because it does not indicate how much face value silver is needed.

My question is how do they give change back? For instance if you get 6 gallons of gas $1.20 and pay with 3- 90% halves $1.50 how do you get change back? Do you get $.30 cents back? Thats a rip off. Or do they try to give change back in silver value which would be about $9 I think.

Where's that ebay ad for 100 Morgan or Peace dollars for $299 when you need it. I'd buy a Humvee!

" but the sign does NOT say how much face value you need of silver for 1 gallon of gas" um.. I think it says 20 cents per gallon of pre 64's. Anyways. interesting idea. Most likely the owner is a collector. I'm guessing there are other people in the area that have saved up pre 64's as well. What would be interesting if someone was paying in FRN's and they say the amount due was 20.25, and the customer hands over a twenty and a pre 64 quarter without knowing it. Now, does the cashier pretend its just a regular quarter?

I think we are about to see the parabolic rise in gold and silver that has been talked about for years now. I wouldn't trade in any of my silver for worthless Federal Reserve Notes now.
This is only the beginning.

I don't know about anyone else, but I wouldn't be too keen on paying the equivalent of almost $6/gallon for gas

I saw this as a win for the store, not the customers.

I'm thinking to do this when I have my estate sale when we move. One price for cash and one for silver coins, gold coins, Ferraris, stuff like that. Everything must go! I'll take an 360 or and F430 for the whole lot. I'll even sell all my clothes except for what I'm wearing. Amy said I couldn't sell her stuff as part of the lot.

It has to be a new sign - cigs are over $6/pack in the background. I actually missed the DOLLLARS, but caught the HALFS. Thanks to an English teacher for a mother, that made me cringe a bit.
