I'm going with Whizzed on this one for such a nice looking coin the edges are not as sharp as they should be look at the bands in the middle... My guess is dremmill and a felt wheel.

Mercs are a bear to shoot properly. Even in DejaVu, I can't see enough information to decide why PCGS gave that status. Heck, they could have seen toning at the two points on the rim where tongs held the coin while it was being dipped.

Ha. Didn't even think of the shooting aspect Dave. It appeared to have all it's original luster so I was hesitant to say dipped. We also don't have it in hand either.

If they can tell it's cleaned, why don't they list it on the slab, other than just .92? A description of the damage or even a letter code for the type of cleaning done would help me make up my mind as to the value of the coin.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

I can't see any evidence of wizzing. What do you see to make you say that?

That's one thing I hate about PCGS. You telling me this coin is not gradeable?

Grading on this one seems inaccurate 95% of "blast white" coins in PCGS holders have been dipped

I know many lightly dipped coins make it into gradeable holders.
