Silver Mexican coins are highly counterfeited. swamperbob is our resident expert and can give you a little more info on these as well as their authenticity.

Left:
5 Pesos, 1947. Mintage 5.1 million
30 grams @ 0.9 silver = 0.868 oz ASW

Right:
8 Reales, 1882. Mintage 779,000
27.07 grams @ 0.903 silver = 0.7859 oz ASW

That's assuming they are real. There are varieties on the 8 reales coin, but I can't make out the photos enough to look for them.

I hope you did not pay for these, they are Chinese fakes. The Chinese seams to get backing from their government as they have been told about this problem. The US should collect these and pay them with the fakes.

I wish my mistakes were so cheap

You can't spot counterfeits but studying fakes. You do it by studying the real thing. Knowing what kinds of fakes that are out there does help a bit though.
