Alright, tonight out of the clear blue my 4 year old daughter picked up my
loupe and ran to our change jar and started looking at each coin. After she did the coins she went to rocks then stamps on our mail.

I can't explain how proud I feel that she has taken even a small interest in a hobby, especially coins.

I went out and bought her a magnafying glass of her own and gave her a small bag of wheats. She loves it. I hope the interest lasts.

That is fantastic. Cultivate the interest but don't push her. Coins and stamps are great teaching tools for history, math and science. Pick her up her own wheatie album, and shoot the lock off the wallet, not the one she has to pound them in with a hammer. otherwise you might get a carpenter not a coin collector.

That is awesome, and a great gift idea for my two year old daughter when she gets to that age.

My 3 y/o granddaughter loves to do this with me. It's funny to watch her. She will hold the loupe to one eye, and hold the coin to the other. but she's very good about "helping" papap look at money. I have stuff set aside for when she's older, and actually appreciates what I'm doing. For now, it's a cool and fun way to be with papap.

Also, check around for a variety of different sized and power magnifying glasses. At that age that too could really make them interested since they can actually play with them and learn at the same time.

Awesome!

Mon has started to collect hoard my discarded Zincolns. I keep finding them tucked inside various toys. Anything with a lid or compartment has a handful of Lincoln cents in it.
