I have belonged to the ANA since 1961.

The ANA publication is a good one, and recently was changed to be larger and more colorful. I always find stories which are interesting and informative.

Benefits I have found include special prices on coins and books, a great numismatic library, and "special treatment" when visiting the ANA Headquarters in Colorado Springs, or attending ANA coin shows.

Direct submission to NGC and NCS without paying the yearly NGC membership.

If you're planning on joining, go through Rare Coin Wholesalers, since they are matching your membership (i.e. 2 years for the price of one). And since I'm a YN, I got 2 years of membership and submission to NGC for $10 a year. The Numismatist (their magazine) is a pretty good read, and if you're a member you can earn auction money to bid on coin related items.
