It's been years since I found any silver in my change, lucky you.It has a bullion value of about $1.30. Although also an interesting find the George cent is worth a cent.

I recently received a well-circulated 1980 1-cent from Tim Horton's with a decent sized clip error. If only I could sift through those boxes that sit on the counter!

Could someone take a stab at what the grading is on the 1946 George VI penny?

I was looking at the mints web site and it does not say they made 10 cent coins of 50% silver that year. Is the website wrong? 1968 to 1977 Composition: 99.9% nickel Weight (g): 2.07 Diameter (mm): 18.034 Thickness (mm): 1.16

I would guess the 1946 penny to be about EF what I think is nice about it is the fact it is a complete double date, I can see doubling on all 4 digits in the date unless its a glare in the picture. If it is a double date in that condition its worth a bit more than a penny :)Id have a closer look at it.
The dime, like you were told has a better silver value than collectable value but it is still a nice find.

I would say the 1946 penny is in Fine condition and no better than that, but it's still really cool to find Georges in change, as they become harder and harder to find.
