I don't know enough about these transitional 1823-1824 Peru pieces... The weight is obviously way low for a standard issue colonial 8R, but a lot of wacky stuff was going on with production at Lima and Cuzco those two years. Control of the city and the mint was shifting back and forth, various crude issues were being struck and over-struck... It wouldn't be shocking if there was some point-shaving going on.
