Looks like a defiant snake D3 obverse and medium Libertad M2 reverse. Edge looks suspiciously like the counterfeit example in "Hookneck", but I could be mistaken. This is one series I haven't really dabbled in, other than get a nice toned Mexico City example for a type set.

Wish the weight was slightly higher but I believe it is still within range considering early Durango 8R's were inconsistent with their weights.

It's been cleaned that's for sure but still a nice coin if real.

Edge looks OK to me (wish I could see the entire edge).
In this condition I think 2.4% below the catalog weight is a honest wear.

Off weight, no real marks on eagle side, edge and rim does not look like my defiant snake hookneck. Check the return policy. Unless you know the seller, buyer beware.

The coin in all particulars appears to be real. I have seen the same edge on a real Durango and the weight is within known range for the issue.

I had it on my watch list and if it had not sold I planned to make an offer as an original.

There are NO known forgeries of this die pair.
