Can anyone tell me if the image on the left is an error and I believe the image on the right is a brass plated penny.

good what do you think? My main interest is with the brass plated penny and the one next to it. Is it an error?

i think it isn't an error. I think it is just the way the coin changed in color over time. weigh the coin, that should help decide that it's just copper.

sorry, I meant I don't think the one on the right is brass. I think it's just how the color changed. I have tons of copper cents and a lot of them have different shades and different colors.

Some helpful advise, Let every one know what you see, Or the pick up points where you see it. I'm sure you will receive more helpful feed back this way. And when you post single shots, crop them as much as you can. I still struggle with this one. I get all excited about posting I tend to forget. Just some good habits to get into that will help you as well. And I think your photos are great! Seem to be working fine now. Congrats on all your finds. Keep up the good work.
On the 1987 cent are you referring to the upper half just before the rim. or the mint mark?

From what I've seen on these forums the one on the left looks to have been caused by Die Deterioration. But you'll have to wait to hear from the experts on here to be sure.
