I certainly don't have one, and I don't think anyone else here has one (if there is, they are one lucky person!). According to Wikipedia, 40 believed to have been minted, with 12 confirmed to exist.

I've got three of them. And all in really great condition. Odd thing is they jump to a magnet.
Also, have many that are Zinc plated. Wonder how that happened.

My grandmother claimed my grandfather once found one, put it aside to take to the safe deposit box at the bank and didn't advise her on it's significance and it found it's way back into circulation through either her, my father or my aunt... Again this was just a claim but you should have heard my heart beat when she told me he had found one... It was followed by deep sadness when she followed it up with the last part.

Not unusual at all. Some time back there were so many rumors floating around about a 1943 Copper Cent that possibly thousands were Copper plated and put back into circulation. Many were sold at coin stores, hobby stores, flea markets as a novelty. I used to hear rumors that if you had one you could trade it in on a new Ford Car.
What they possibly had was one of those Copper plated ones.

Nothing big it's just that in 1943 almost all cents were made of Steel and Zinc plated. Rumors started almost right away about some made from the previous sheets of Brass (Copper used for the 1942 cents) The more the stories spread, the more they would be worth if you had one. One famous rumor was that Ford would give you any Ford car for one or the Brass looking ones. This naturally made people run rampant placting the Steel ones with Copper and selling them everywhere. I purchased 3 of those and had a lot of fun showing them to people. Naturally all such plated fakes were attracted to magnets though.

As already noted I was kidding. My 3 are all Copper plated 1943 Steel Cents. Still a lot of fun showing them to people.

The 1943 copper-alloy cent is one of the most enigmatic coins in American numismatics -- and reportedly the most valuable Lincoln Penny of all. Just 40 of the coins -- probably created by accident, on copper-alloy one-cent blanks left in the presses in the wartime years when pennies were converted to steel -- are known to exist. The first 1943 copper cent was sold in 1958 for more than $40,000. In 1996, another went for a whopping $82,500. But those sales pale in comparison with the latest: this week, a dealer in New Jersey sold his 1943 penny for a staggering $1.7 million. Their collection value makes 1943 copper pennies a prime target for counterfeiters: fakes are often made by coating steel cents with copper or altering the dates of 1945, 1948 and 1949 cents. How can you tell if your 1943 copper penny is real? Use a magnet. If the penny sticks, it's not copper. Better luck next time.

I like better the history about that 1st collector who found one and tried for years to convence the TPG that it was real but only after 30 years the us mint admit the error and a TPG graded and slabed the coin but by the time he was dead and his son was the one who sold the coin and got the money also was very happy for the fact his father was right ! It is a real story and I'm sure someone here can post the link , is my favorite coin historie together with the legendary josh tantun 1883 $5 gold coin (V-nickel no cents lol ).

As far as I know none of the 43 copper cents known today are off-center, also I would question the editors authentication since he mentiones that the coin is overweight, and he blame the over weight on the fact thaat it is off-center. This makes me question whether he knows what he is talking about. The rotated reverse also raises red flage. I strongly suspect the editor was taken in by a fake.

I've seen one once! Some guy had a 1943 copper and a 1944D steel at a coin show like ten years ago.
