Just wondering if there is any other penny sorters (canadian) that have found a reasonable way to return all the darn zincs..... We cull about $2000.00 face per week! that leaves us quite a pile of zincs to return. The problem is that we can't dump them into coinstar type machines. To roll them and deposit them takes alot of time and cost as well. Anybody find another solution?

For those that penny sort on a small scale, I'm talking about thousands of pounds of zinc returns. It's a bit ridiculous.

Culling for bronze? How do you extract the value?

As for rolling: What about automatic coin rollers?

I used to be in the coin machine business, A roller is worth 300 to 1500 maybe less if there is a Chinese version for a hand crank version. Then using flats or cartridge wraps. The flats take a bit to get the hang of but very cheap $5.00 per 1000, .005 cents/per wrap. Cartridges are significantly more, I haven't purchased in a long time but a case of 2500 is 1 foot by 2 foot by 3 high [ size of small bar fridge]and for sure at least 10$ and then ship and store. The shipping would kill you. When you are handling coin especially pennies the cost is significant.
Consider; 50 cents,,roll of 50 coins count, wrap, bundle 10 rolls =$5.00. Time to count, roll, wrap. by hand, maybe 30 per hour or 15.00$, you need honest, slave labor.By machine, you would double your efficiency.
I counted millions of dollars worth of coins every year in my work, if you have any question feel free to ask.
