Hi, I'm new to taking pictures of coins so I know nothing. I'm looking to get something cheap that can take good close up pictures of dates and doubling, ect. I was wondering if the product in the image would work well for me?

I know too little about these things to offer usable advice, but I took the liberty of altering your thread title slightly for clarity. Hopefully that will drag in people who know more about the topic than you or I.

That's the same one I got early last year, great for close up but not too good if you need wide range. And it cost 30% less than what I paid for back then.

The LED light is too strong for silver, 2 settings for the light, but even at low level, it still blow out details. I just used natural lighting.

I now used the Canon Powershot 1300 digital camera, much better than the digi microscope.

Well I have a Cannon Powershot SX120 IS, but I just can't seem to find the setting to make anything clear. And I want to take pictures of my silver.
