Can someone please tell me what kind of error this is? Also, does this error demand a premium. And finally one last question, what is the best thing I can do to preserve the coin besides putting it in a 2x2.

are you talking about a rim that is slightly recessed? that is probably from being in a bezel for a necklace

I am talking about the rims. Both are completely missing. What a weird thing to make into a necklace.

It's not from a bezel - this is an ex-encased cent. An aluminum ring used to be around that coin, and the coin popped out. No biggie, and it's considered damage...not an error.
