dsking you will make much more money in this hobby, if you buy wisely and pay attention to mintages, than any bank will pay you to use your savings! The American people could probably straighten a whole lot of things out but find it easier to just take a beating than to fight back. Good luck with your "hunt" and I do hope I will be able to help you out some day!!!

well, I guess the answer is whatever I feel I can afford. Anywhere from 20-200 dollars. Aaah, to have varying disposable income.

Bryan1315 I am currently collecting the Dollar Modern Commemoratives. When I get all of the Modern Commemoratives then I will start looking for the Early Commemoratives.

Well I used to spend tons of money, prior to my losing a job of 28 years, so now instead of buying everything that suited my fancy I must concentrate on specific coins and go from there! Money is NOT abundant at this time so I go with what I got and, with a little trading, I remain in the hobby. Today (YES TODAY) I brought home 3 Buffalo nickels which cost me $112.00, two 2006 proof Jefferson nickels at $3.00 each and a Buffalo Silver Round for 14.00. That pretty much wiped me out for a while!!!
Like many here I used to spend freely untill I was fired in 1996 a first time and end 2000 a second time Now I am a temp

It really varies for me. In October, I think I may have spent close to $250 on coins, just because there was a big show and lots of coins that I liked. Normally, it's around $50 to $100, although I'm looking to go on a big spending spree in March if I can convince my parents to take me to the ANA show in Charlotte. The months that I spend a lot usually follow months when I spend a little, so it equals out in the long run.

I picked 20-50 dollar range since that is what my budget allows right now. But when I first started but my amount was much higher the begining of this year but I think I spent more then I should have since it hurt the household buget but I have learned to control my self alittle more. It is very easy to get caried away when you first start collecting and that is what happened to me and now I have to put my self on a smaller budget to make sure all household bill get paid before coins. Plus with 3 young kid all under 5 most of my coin money goes to them. I hope one day I can have a 500-1000 a month coin budget if I want it but not at this time.

One hundred dollars with the occasional splurge into the several hundred range. Usually if I have my eye on something more expensive, I try to go conservative with money in the month before I make the purchase.

I have a small bank account that I deposit small sums in as I can,, this account is specifically for coins, If I want something special then it may take a few months of saving to purchase it or it may take a few weeks. It never fails that once I buy one coin another is in sight and the cycle continues.

My monthly coin purchases depend on my mood. I don't have a fixed amount I spend. When I'm not busy enough and feel like I need a charge, I'll go online and order some stuff. Lately I've been dropping too much cash. If I had the discipline (and I don't) I would limit purchases to around $300 per month.

It varies from one month to another specially if I sell some I use this money to buy another coins.
An average of 30$ per month is enough for me

*************************** I'm with laxmaster92. I try to keep my spending below $20. Living on a fixed income doesn't give me much choice. Most of my collection consist of circulated coins, as long as the dates are visiable and I can fill the slots in the albums, few are purchased if it's a priced I can afford.
