So I bought this set mostly for the Jefferson Matte proof nickel. But it also had a cool Series 1976 $2 bill. The neat part is that the one I got is a star note. I checked a lot of these sets on ebay and none were really star notes. Maybe I got a lucky one.

Can anyone tell me value of this? I'm a coin guy so I know nothing about these notes. Thanks!

I have one of these myself and two sets with the normal serial numbers. I think they may add a small premium to the final bid of the set over one that was without the star note. Maybe add an extra 5 or 7 bucks to the value. I am interested in what the star note series is and what the total number of those were star notes as there is a site for that info someplace.

Well I think it is here as I had just checked my rather huge favorites folder.

Still I don't know what series is in my set without digging it out.
Since you have yours handy let us know please.

PS: I think this is my 3333 rd post !

I don't know what you are asking for... I know absolutely nothing about notes, so the different numbers and letters I don't know what they are...

and for the set I paid $50 shipped.

Thats a great price for the set.

I have a few of the sets and one of them have the star note also, I actually did not know they existed till I saw one on this forum, I set out to locate one and did, I do believe I paid a little more than $50.00 and also believe the set, condition being considered, is valued in the "guides" for more than a couple of dollars over the non-star note bill, good luck, Be Well, Mike....Just my opinion.....

The C* being chcu / unc would retail for $10 to $15 on a good day.

FWIW, All sets did NOT have star notes, only some did. However there were a few sets that had rare star notes (I,J) OR fancy SN's which were worth lot of money.

Very nice, I had to do some research to see one. I haven't heard of those before.
