Here's a 1891 CC I'm having a little trouble attributing, due to wear and the few attributed on VW. The few points I've been able to note are the normal positioned date, possibly a high second 1, and the mm appears to be high left (from the observers point of view).

What I can't determine is if the O, A & are are doubled at the bottoms, or if the lettering is just flattened, which I don't think is the case.

Any opinions on what you observe, particularly on the lettering? Oh, and I think its a c3d reverse.
Thanks

My guess, based on what little information is available, is you're looking at VAM-2 considering the date and mint mark location.

As regards doubling: The places you're pointing to are likely circulation artifacts. True doubling is a lot more subtle - look at the "O" you posted. See the minute "doubling" to the right of the place you arrowed? Kinda looks like a small "slice" that's still connected on the right? That's what Morgan doubling looks like in most cases. You cannot see it without good magnification.

I may need to update my reading glasses, but I do not see anything that is doubled, looks like all post mint damage, also looks like the mint marks are shifted to the left..... Just my opinion.

Yea, I was questioning whether it was actual doubling or not, I agree it looks PMD circulation damage. And your glasses are fine, the mm is left not right, my error.

Appreciate yours and Dave's feedback. Thanks
