Hi, can someone explain this coin. I think this is called grease die, but would like to make sure. And how much is it worth. Thanks

If I was interested in this type of error, I'd go to about $5. Lucky for me, they don't interest me. I like die cracks, Cuds, die clashes, planchet flaws, rim Cuds plus a heap of others.
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

Definately die fill & I would'nt pay more than a few bucks as it has been well circulated. If it were uncirculated maybe about $10.

1999 onwards The queen's hair is close to the A is the clue. Ian Rank-Broadley big head design If there is a commemorative picture on the back you might be able to narrow down the year. Might be before 2005? Very cool pictures thanks for sharing. :)

how often can these errors occur? Can one die churn out multiple error coins like these?
I've got only one coin like this from all the noodling I've done and its only got the year not showing. The examples above are quite dramatic, reminds me of notes that have ink missing on them.

I doubt there would be many produced, probably only a few at the start until the offending material was discarded ( forced out ) from the dies maybe.
