Check out all excess metal around LIBERTY, this is what made me think it might have been counterfeit.

Is this the coin that was thought to be a 8/7 ? if it is I still have to disagree because even in these pictures I still don't see it

I am not real sure why anyone would counterfeit a Buffalo nickel but I am sure that is NOT the 8 over 7. I will agree something is going on with this nickel that is rather strange?

Struck with a rusted and worn out die...that's all. This type of thing is somewhat common, I thought.

I was looking at a buffalo last weekend in AU or better, don't remember, at a local dealer in my area. He's asking $20. I don't recall the date either since I was in a rush and didn't bring $$ with me so I would'nt get careless and buy just anything. I need to go back and get that info and do a little research. But It sure was nice and SHINY.

They sure are a breath taking coin, Thingee. It's the set I'd like to complete before passing them down. Missing 19 but of course they are the high $ ones so maybe, maybe not.
