I've just received a 2007 Kangaroo in the Secret Santa exchange. It's called an Uncirculated coin, but looks more like a Reverse Proof in terms of quality. Simply a gorgeous coin. However, there is detail in the polished areas, and it's giving me fits to photograph.

The best I've been able to do so far is two direct lights, one low and one high, filtered thru a milk jug. My best images are below, and I'm open to suggestion. In the meantime, I'm just going to sit back and stab myself repeatedly in the eye with a pen, as that's an easier way to spend my time than trying to photograph this monster.

Dave Try using a white background ,, If you have not already done so.

I have problems with the obverse of the coins which have that bust of the Queen ,, the crown is very hard to get a sharp picture of.

Otherwise that is a beautiful coin !! Very nice gift from Santa ~~~
