From 1530 to 1537, Malwa was in a state of utter chaos due to invasions from Gujarat and Mughal rulers. This resulted in coinage of those rulers being prevalent in Malwa area. With the death of Bahadur shah of Gujarat in 1537 there was a break in the chain of invasions. This resulted in installation of a local ruler Mallu Khan with the title, Qadir shah (1537-42) . In 1542, Malwa fell subject to invasions once again, this time from Sher shah Sur and Suris' rule remained until 1555.AD. Copper - 3.5gms - Half Tanka

Copper - 7gms - Tanka There is a little controversy on the identification of these coins. Some tend to classify this as Baz Bahadur coins. With whatever legend is seen on the flan, it may be taken both ways- as Qadir or as Bahadur.
