Saw a ebay add saying this is the last year of the Sacagawea dollars, is this correct? I thought they were going to do both the Presidential dollars and the Sac dollar.

As far as I know the mint has to produce Sacagawea dollars til the end of the Presidential dollars series, where they can then decide to either continue or discontinue the Sacagawea series. It is also stated that 1/3 of all dollars produced through the Presidential dollar series have to be the Sacagawea.

Yes someone is marketing a lie because the Sacky is to be minted along side the Presidential dollars and not be discontinued once the President dollars start

I think they just got the info messed up probably an honest mistake ,, its real easy to get bad info when your dealing with the mint and their intended practices.

The Susan B will become obsolete with the Presidential dollar coins release.

There is a movement by the Federal Reserve to halt the upcoming production of the Sacagawea dollars. It will take a change of law by Congress but, when it comes to our Congress, anything is possible. I would MUCH rather continue my Sackie collection than start another dead politician set that is going to push the price of Mint and Proof sets through the roof!!!
Rest in Peace

I do hope the Sacagawea dollars continue. I just completed my set, including proofs, and it is one of my favorites.

The 1/3 law never made much sense. Can you imagine the glut of Sacs there will be if(when) the president coins become popular?
I have no clue just how many president coins will be minted but the mint is producing at least 200 million of each State Quarter, most at least 300 million many much higher(Virginia P, 943 Million). If they were to produce 100 million of each pres. Dollar, P &D, 4 pres's a year thats 800 million per year. That would call for over 250 million Sacs each year. Thats plenty considering they are only selling about 6 million per year now.

The mint only makes sackies now to sell to collectors, they aren't circulated much at all, and the later dates are virtually non-existant.

I believe You are correct, and I think that is worded into the bill, when getting congress to aprove of it, A law issue
