Welcome to the Forums, Cornet.  my thoughts on your coin is, a great looking one, one BTW I am missing, looks AU from the pictures.

Awesome coin! I would guess high EF to low AU.

I'd go EF+ to be on the safe side, but it's hard to tell unless you're holding the coin in hand.

Some wear and I would say AU.

Thanks for all the input! I thought it would grade about AU. A family member got this as a birth gift in...1948. It's too bad that it floated around in their piggy bank for 45 years. If it hadn't, I'm sure the grade would be slightly higher. Having said that, I'm sure glad that it didn't buy a meal for the family!

Still learning to grade, but wouldn't the wear on the jaw and neck put this at about EF45 ?

similar in condition to mine and ICCS (no smirking please) gave it an AU-50

EXF and very lightly cleaned at one time.Story about getting as a birth gift in 1948 is highly questionable.All 1948 dollars were coined in December 1948 and distributed in early 49.This one HAS seen circulation!
