I have been having problems accessing the forum, it has been hanging up and taking several minutes to come up. Is anyone else having this problem?

yeah I tried to get on for a couple hours earlier and it just kept loading and loading and loading, after about 5 or 10 minutes it would finally load and then when I clicked anything I had to wait 5 or 10 minutes again, I finally just gave up and just tried it again and still the same thing going on

believe CCF home base is getting hit by the hurricane Irene. Plus many communication lines on the east coast maybe down or above capacity.

Yep, I was having trouble from way down here, too. It's much faster now than it was a few hours ago.

yeah, me too... had trouble all morning, I would think it has something to do with "Irene" coming up the coast.

Actually, don't think Irene has anything to do with it. Seems like growing pains which isn't a bad problem to have once in a while.
This afternoon we will be moving the site to a new, less crowded, server with a better processor. You shouldn't really see any downtime, although it is possible. The one thing that could go a little snafooey is uploading images.
For those of you that understand this stuff: If you upload an image during the new IP propagation to the old site, when your IP caches along the way refresh to the new site location you're images will vaporize.
For the "What the heck is he talking about" people: If an image you upload today disappears, just re-upload it.

The site will be existing in two servers, for a while. We expect everything to be ok and stable in around 48 hours. If you don't want to reupload missing images, be assured we will get everything in place after the first 24 hours. After that time, if you have any issues, please post on this forum. Until that time, there is no point posting, because the cause is the one Bobby has just explained, so you will have to be patient.
We'll begin the move in around 6 hours.

YAY the problem seems to be fixed now. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh I had total withdrawals from not being able to log on yesterday, and this morning all the post said server error message. I kinda guessed that it had to be one of a few possible problems, sever had crashed, hackers, someone accidentally typed the wrong codex.

If any of you find files that you have uploaded missing, it will probably be easier for you to upload them again. This site has several GBs of uploaded files and those take time to copy, even through a fast local network, so it's better if the few users that will be affected upload their own files.

Seems to me that you guys are addicted to the CCF! That is evidenced from the implied frustration that abounded for a few hours, from the posts in this thread.
OK, I will admit it. So was I!

Maybe Irene will bring some more sea salvage to the beaches once more.
