I don't know much about the merc world. Even though I am almost finished completing my dansco album. I picked this up for melt last night. Any suggestions on what I should do and your grading opinions?

She will grade about XF40 but it appears to have been cleaned.
All those fine tell tail scratches probably don't look as bad in hand so I would
put it your album and be happy about the good deal you got on it.

a nice coin, but I have to agree with the previous poster, it was cleaned at some point-here's a little hint-when the field areas of a coin are lighter than say the outside where the lettering usually is, that's a tell tale sign of a cleaning. Also, rotate the coin under a light-if you see a lot of hairlines, (notice to the left of Miss Liberty, and the right side on the reverse) that;s another tip off of a likely cleaning. If you're going after a circulated set, the only ones that really need to be slabbed are the 16-d, 21, and 21-d, and the overdates if you are going after them.

Obviously not a candidate for TPG slabbing since even a solid no-problem AU has a retail value of just $40 or so. The coin would likely get a Cleaned designation, further reducing its potential resale value. As the others said, put it in your album. Then move on to the next date you need for the set.
