Hello. can somone tell me what can be the value of a Canadian 1951 PL66 Dollard?...and why there is no such grade in the Charlton catalogue...I have one that just came back from a canadian grader and when I sent it I tough it would come back to me as a specimen.

Im a little surprised to see it with a PL grading since no proof like sets were issued before 1953. My guides show prices for that year in MS and SP although I did find a listing for the 1951 in PL65 which makes it more confusing.

All 3 varieties, full water line, short waterline and arnprior list for 2000.00 in SP65. Oddly enough I was able to find a price for the 1951 FWL in PL65 which was for 350.00.

Im not sure it helps any but I would operate on the assumption that since it is not a business strike and is being graded with a PL finish that the PL should work similar to the SP grade. Since all 3 in SP are the same price it makes sense to think all 3 in PL would as well therefore 350+

Id be interested however to see what others have to say on this

Thanks for your research...My guide don't tell me much about 1951 SWL...the higher grade with a reference is MS64 at 1000.00... in specimen 65 grade the FWL is 2000.00 and Arnprior at 4000.00
