So I was working the 11pm - 7am overnight shift last night at Mcds up here in the Kanada..Winterpeg to be exact. When I had to switch out the tills at around 6:30am I noticed a shinier then usual coin sittin in the loonie section and when I pulled it out..turned out to be a 2009 John Taylor Presidential dollar. Definately made it's way into my collection :) don't see too many american dollar coins up here unless they're shoved in the old dollars/50 cent coins at the bank ( managed a bicentennial 76D dollar that way )

So at this point with the exchange rate you actually lost money buying a US dollar coin for a Canadian loonie. Our dollar is currently only worth 97 Canadian cents. Wow...that really stinks. I can remember when the US Dollar brought $1.20 Canadian.

What's more surprising is that the US Dollar is worth less than even the Australian dollar, which at one time was roughly at $1 US = $1.40 AUS.

Would a Canadian cash drawer be considered a loonie bin?
