I know there is a collectors niche out there for low ball morgan/peace dollars to see who can get the lowest graded coin collection. Its kind of a neat thing to collect when you think that this pocket dollar was a big part of someone or someones life, they would carry it with them everyday. This is a my only low ball which I recently acquired buying and selling silver for something fun to do while in college. Any help on the estimate grade or info would be appreciated thanks! I would say the obverse is Poor 1.5, and the reverse is Poor 0.5, but maybe when you get into the lowball market there's a very poor distinction or something! Poor-1 is what it would get if it were slabbed. Hope you paid melt for it!

Yep, that is a PO-1. Makes me wonder where this coin has been and all the stories that it could tell if it could speak.

Basal State - Ungradable. You can't even tell the date, which is a no-no for a lowball unless some feature allows positive date ID without the numbers being present. I love it.

The dates either an 1881 or 1901. Feel free to call me out on it but I'm pretty sure its a 1901 based on the oval shape of the two middle numbers when you look at an 1881 and 1901 morgan up close via google images. I am however unable to tell the mint mark.
I'm sure if it could talk, it could tell some stories which is the reason I bought it.
I paid $25 for it which I dont regret it one bit haha. The thing about these low ball coins, to me, is there's not one with the exact same character and story which makes them fun to collect, even though this is my first and only, it kind of sparked a new interest.

This is a true lowball coin,, yet unfortunately, It's not a 1901.....if one looks at the second digit...could be an 8 or 9 But the 3rd digit...half way curves inward just like the second digit...could be an 8 0r 9.. but an O or zero for the third number..IS NOT OVAL..like an 0 would not be curved in half way down the numeral....which this coin shows its 3rd numeral the "0" curves in.. its not an 1901...the one is obvious meaning is it 1881-0. 1891-0? but not 1901 O IMHO
