Another one. I'm a little less insecure about this one. I feel it is under-graded. I hope you agree.

What do you think? At all PL?

Thanks in advance. I'm really interested to see what people both new to Morgans and the old Morgan experts have to say.

I am no pro but I don't think it's a DMPL but I do think it's a PL.Also, the '81's are known for their higher grades.

I think this could be a high end MS-63. This coin looks like a Prooflike maybe DMPL depending on the actual depth of reflectivity.

Okay, thanks for the feedback. How could I take better pictures to show the depth of the mirrors?

MS63, and wonderful color.

It's very, very difficult to properly image reflectivity in a coin. In order to be considered PL, using your rule as an example, the 9 needs to be clearly readable in the face of the coin when held 4-6" from it. 12pt newspaper type is the standard for measuring such reflectivity.

A DMPL coin is one you would be perfectly willing to shave in, using a straight razor.

Looks better than 63 to me, with definite mirrored fields. I'd say MS-64 PL, with DMPL not out of the question. Very strong eye appeal on this one!

Thank you very much. I appreciate all of your assistance greatly.

This is in an OGH that says 63 DMPL, CAC. Based on all of your input, I will not be resubmitting, just hoping when I'm ready to sell her that feels like me that she's rather strong for the grade. I feel it's a clear 64-65 DMPL, but it's probably not worth the effort now, especially as the TPG's continue to get tougher.

I'm afraid I significantly overpaid then - $300 to Don Rinkor. I should have made a reasonable but lower offer. He's a good guy and very knowledgeable. I trust him more than a lot of the other dealers I met with and talked to, so if it's a "poor purchase", it's on me.

Such is life. That's what I get for trusting my gut when my gut doesn't have any idea what it's looking at!
