The Mint has far bigger issues than their website. As you probably know, the Mint authorizes a private company to fill orders. This is where the problem lies. This company along with the Mint have no competition, and therefor continue to use the logic that if you don't buy from them, someone else will. They really have no care whether collectors buy from them or not. It is sad that they feel this way, but their actions have proven this fact many times over.

I had been having the same trouble, but happened to read the article in the newest issue of Coin World. They said to dump all the old 'cookies' from the mint and let it issue new ones as you log on to the various deparatments. So I cleaned out all the old cookies. Signed on the Mint web site and low and behold every thing worked out as it should. Was able to enter my account and make new purchases, just like old times. Went and looked after shutting down, and there was a whole new set of "cookies' from the mint. Signed back on the mint site and had no problems the second time. Maybe they knew what they were talking about. You might wanat to try it yourselfs.

I like Nohope's interpretation--the dark side is calling. There are too many options on the Internet to put up with anyones BS. Especially the U.S Mint who would be rusting on their lurals, if they had any.

Hey Cisco, I'm sorry your upset with the mint. I'm not a prude but this is a family forum. Go easy, I'm sure it will all work out! Peace, Mike

I got on line last night to order the Marshall commemoratives and even though the system seemed very slow I managed to get them ordered and confirmed. Guess I was just lucky or perhaps this relatively new computer may have made a difference?

I guess I'm lucky. I don't have to order anything from the mint except the standard proof set and mint set each year. I will have to wait to see if I can get on line when the mint sets are issued. catman

Should we be surprised when our VICE PRESIDENT's former company got large NO BID contracts in Iraq? It feels as if we are returning to the days of Tammany Hall. Will it take a revolution? I am soo sick of politician's collecting campaign contributions which go into their pockets (or in the case of the man third in line for the presidency, his wife's pocket- and he has the gall to say that charges filed by the grand jury in TX are politically motivated!) In the case of the mint, it seems like mere incompetence rather than graft. I returned to edit this so that it won't seem partisan. here in CA, I was very happy to see our last Governor recalled (he was a Democrat) because he was all about raising campaign contributions, and he had aides who were actually cuaght saying that a campaign contribution would directly affect Davis' stance on legislation.

The Mint operates like the post office and all other monopolies. Do as you please and if someone doesn't like it, well tough.

Well I went ahead and tried the fixes even tho I knew they would not work, guess what? I still can't log onto my account. From ND "The Mint operates like the post office and all other monopolies. Do as you please and if someone doesn't like it, well tough."--Yes indeed, that is why most intelligent Americans avoid dealing with the government in any form. Instead of using the PO, I use UPS or FEDEX--If there was another place where I could buy what I want to collect at issue price I would go to them. As you can see eventually they will start to lose money, now I intend to keep my money and NOT buy any more coins until they get there crap together--If enof peeps do that, they will change there tune real quick like..[:0] As for the US Mint, I have just about given up on those people for this year--whoever is doing there web work is trully incompetent, unless of course the mint is doing this on purpose..which wouldn't surprise me for whatever silly reason those bureaucrat(s)have...

Don't really know what to tell you CiScO. After reading your post, I tried the Mint site again and everything worked fine, all the way into my account etc. Absolutely no problems. Hate to say this but, could it be your computer?

I can't log in either. When I do, I get a message in red stating that they are working on the website and to call if I want to buy something. No, it's not just you Cisco.
