A replica, I'm afraid - the bubbly surface on the obverse is their attempt at replicating the sandy background of a typical genuine cast coin.

Cool coins, I have seen dragon coins before, but never with a phoenix.

5-clawed dragon was assigned to represent the Emperor while the 4-clawed and 3-clawed dragons were assigned to the commoners

Many pictures of oriental dragons show a flaming pearl under their chin. The pearl is associated with wealth, good luck, and prosperity.

Another good rule of thumb is, "if it's got anything pictorial on it, it almost certainly isn't an actual cash coin". These are all good luck charms.

The Dragon-Phoenix could stand for a wedding, or aat the start of a reign, when all the forces are proper. The design was used for the Pu-Yi wedding issues of 1926, and on many of the commemoritive 1st year of reign charms. The illustrations are all charms- I would guess that the bottom ones are from the mid 90's, when the "flying saucer " fakes were common- they are much thicker in the mioddler than at the outer rim. The top dragon/phoenix could be older.
