I guess I haven't seen the rules for asking members for a valuation of a set.

I purchased this from a old coin collector, and am curious of the value. The set was started in 1971, and assembled from a unknown source. Granted I'm not the best grader in the world but I do believe every single coin to be in MS condition with most having very few bag marks.

Obviously due to the 7 40% and 2 90% there's some silver value, however I imagine the numismatic value is a bit more as all are in very great condition.

The coin with the highest numismatic value from what I can tell would be the 1970-D , then the two 1964 due to silver value.

if any coins have been cleaned, then just 50c Face 1971-2011 & just silver value if cleaned 1964-1970.

Awesome set! From the pics, I think most if not all are BU. As to the value, I am not completely sure but I looked through some of the completed ebay listings and an AU-BU set 1964-2011 sold for $174.99 plus $17.5 shipping and another of the same date range but all BU sold for $239.99.

Sets of Kennedy halves may not have great monetary value but they are a wonderful collection and yours is top notch.
Very nice.

I sold a set like this from 1964 to 2010 and got about $210 for it. Although most were bu, some had some marks. and the set I sold had au 1982 and 1983 coins, which are tough to get in higher grades. I sold my set in a dansco as well. These sets really range when they sell. Like stated above they can go from between like $190 to $240.

I'd say you got around a $200 set there, maybe a tad more. Just an estimate. Awesome set by the way! Keep it!

Thanks for the info guys...

I'm likely going to sell it, it was part of a rather large purchase and I'm less attached to this set as compared to a few other collections. Although if I recoup a bit in other areas, I may very well keep it.

IF you decide to keep that set, I suggest you purchase an Album. That appears to be one of those Folders and they eventually damage coins if anywhere near moiture. Also, since no protection, fingers, spit, breath gets to those coins. Might be a bit expensive but an Album makes the entire collection look better also.

Very nice set. Glad to see there are others who collect JFK halves! It actually is a real significant challenge putting together even a circulated set from circulation. Many coins are difficult to find, and trying to get a set in AU-BU is near impossible without paying a lot for it. Especially since many dates are not intended for circulation (1970-D, 1987 P&D, 2002-present) and the silver ones are hard to find in circulation.

Lovely set. If you have a choice, I would hold onto it. I feel there's going to be a day where Kennedy halves are no longer going to be minted out of copper-nickel, and perhaps out of zinc instead.

That may be quite a while now. A half dollar is worth 50 cents, and the copper/nickel melt value of one half dollar is 11 cents. But who knows in this market, metals are going crazy.

Very nice indeed. I agree, keep it. You have primarily BU coins there, which contrary to what some may say are not so easy to come by. And even the common dates can fetch a buck or more in the low MS ranges. For instance, a 1971, which is very commone, is valued at 2 bucks for an MS60. So I would go with the 200 dollar range on that set.

I may have to take pics of my Dansco proof album I have been working on. Talk about expensive, check the prices on some of the 90's silver proofs.
