I was thinking I should send this off to PCGS as people seem to pay outrageous prices for low ball sets.

So what do you think they would grade my 1864 2 Cent as?

Yea right. Maybe "About Poor 1/2."

I don't think it would grade.

Too bad the date is not visible if so it could have high value as a low-ball registry piece

If you can see the date in hand, I think this is a Poor-01 coin.

Do they need to be slabbed because I have a 1802 large cent I'd love to unload.

Man that is such a pretty coin. The guys at PCGS would wet themselves bad at the opportunity to be able to handle and grade such a nice piece!

What did you pay for it, if it's not too bold to ask?
