Hello everyone!

Please estimate the grade of this coin for me if you don't mind. Would that rim ding on the obverse pull it down a few grades? Thinking about purchasing it - what would you guess is a fair price? Thanks!

I think AU-55. I think that hit on the rim is not significant enough to cause a downgrade or a details grade. Assuming this is not a rare VAM, I think this coin would be worth around $50-55.

AU55 is a safe bet the spotting on the front doesn't help either

is this coin as dull as the picture looks or does it cartwheel well?

Possibly overdipped but seems to be mint state. I'll say MS-61 due to some of the issues.

That's a look I've seen in photos shot in direct sunlight. I don't know about the quality of the surfaces as a result - but the coin is nothing extraordinary and the "textile" look on the right obverse is disconcerting. I think I'd pass on this one unless the price was outstanding.

$61... The seller listed it as a VAM 130c1...

Looks pretty to me but I'm no expert. I need a 1878 rev 78 but may keep holding out unless you guys think $61 is a good deal (seems like maybe a fair price but not a steal?)
