In the spirit of giving exhibited by spring423 and the 1945s Washington quarter he came upon as storied in this post https://goccf.com/t/97040and graciously given away in this post https://goccf.com/t/97134I felt moved to follow suit. I want to give something away, but in the interest of fairness, I wish to include the following conditions in this giveaway: 1 - You must not be the recipient of the aforementioned quarter, and 2 - You must not already have one of the below-mentioned. I obviously can't verify this so you're on your honor! Spring posted his giveaway at 7:30 pm PDT yesterday, so the first person to respond to this post AFTER 7:30 pm PDT today (Sept 2) will be the recipient of this giveaway. (I imagine that should add some thrill to the "chase".) The something? A pristine 1964 Proof Washington Quarter. I thought we should stay with the silver quarter theme! Steve

Haha, I was going to say it's awesome that you are doing a giveaway as well and that i'd sit this one out because I just won the last one. Then I read the rules and number 1 basically says if you are murrellington then you can't enter. haha.
When I get something cool enough i'd like to start a contest as well.

So, am I clear on this? Only requirement is NOT murrellington, NOT owner 1964 quarter, and really fast-fingered @ 10:30 EST CCF time?

Thanks Murrellington. Nothing personal, it just seemed fair. I was moved and touched by Spring's generosity and wanted to do something in the same spirit. It's not something I picked up in pocket change, but something extra in my collection that I thought would be nice to give to another collector who doesn't have one.
And perhaps that person might feel the spirit as well.....!

Yes, Southsav, that would be 10:30 pm for the eastern time zone people. I did it at this time as a kind of 24 hour commemoration of Spring's post. But hey, if you're in Hawaii it comes just before most people get off work!

Jack, you must not already have a 1964 PROOF Quarter! The rest is correct. Especially, around here, the fast-fingered part!

I believe Spring's contest was for 7:30 forum time (eastern). But it doesn't make a difference.

Whytlash, thanks for the clarification, and I applaud your generosity! I play for the fun of the contest, as do, I suspect, most CCF'ers. AND, I like to get mail!

Hey Jack, a while back I won a half dollar from you from your birth year from a contest. Well my wife is making a roll searching website which is getting close to being completed. Anyways, at the top of the site there is a banner of a pile of coins that I took a photograph of. Your 1944 walking liberty is like the center piece of the photo. It will be cool when the site is up so you can see. I treasure the gifts that forum members give. It is more than just a free silver coin to me :)

Ah, yeah, I think I get it. When I see times of posts I see them as my time. I forgot about Forum Time. But, I don't operate on Forum Time. If I did, I'd always be 3 hours early for everything, and that would not necessarily be a good thing.
Consider this another requisite condition of the giveaway; the ability to tell time and translate time across a couple of time zones!
Oh, and stay up past your bedtime. When you were young that was never much of a challenge.......

I'm all for this (I def don't have a '64 proof and I certainly didn't win the other quarter). Thanks Whytlash. Can't wait!
