I was searching through a few quarter and I found a 1968 quarter. How do I tell if its nickel or silver?

Simplest way is to use a magnet. If it sticks to the magnetic: it is nickel, if it does not: it is silver.

Others ways to tell the difference is visually: nickel has a darker color compared to the whitish color of silver.

Also if you drop the coin on a counter, silver has a pinging sound compared to the dull thud of a nickel coin.

What does that reply have to do with a 10 year old post.
Why are you dragging up these old posts and not adding anything to them.
Almost like you are trying to bring your post count up.
