1916 D dime, supposedly found in seller's basement among other stuff. Zero feedback, coin pictures are poor, and answers that he doesn't know if it's real when questioned.

Of course there is a chance that what he says is true, but looks to me to be a guy trying to make big bucks on something he almost certainly knows is fake.

I would be suspicious since he doesn't have any feedback. If he had many feedbacks and it turned out that most of the stuff he sold weren't coins, then I may be inclined to believe him a bit more. Although It may end up being legit, I just have a hard time getting key coins that are raw, with bad pictures.

I would say it has gone far too high already. The odds that the coin is a real 1916 D dime are astronomical. Maybe not even that good.

The seller pulled the auction. Someone informed him that it would be worth thousands if real and advised him to get it certified. He might have seen dollar signs when told this or assumed he was getting called out on a fake coin.
