Hello again everyone,

I have a 1857 Flying Eagle cent which appears to be in really good condition. I was wondering what the value of this coin may be and if you could tell the condition by my picture. If I understand right the most valuable year is the 1858 one? Or am I wrong?

Anyways hear is the picture thanks in advance :)

No, the key one in the series is the 1856, with only 750 struck for circulation.
As far as your FE, not sure on value. It looks like it could be a VG (very good), but it also looks cleaned though, most notably the obverse.

Better pictures needed to verify if cleaned and to what extent. From those pics, I would agree with possibly cleaned.

1856. Proof and Business strike issues. If you can find a G4 example, it will set you back around $6,000.
Most I've seen are generally in the VF range for about $9,500 right now.

Love the Flying Eagle cents! Nice coin. But even though the pics are blurry, I too think there was a cleaning. The coin is all shiny, but it's dark around all of the edges of the eagle and the words. Those dark areas are where it was too hard to reach when cleaning. Looks like that coin was originally a lot darker due to old age and slight circulation, but someone cleaned it to make it look more shiny and new.

If you have a tripod or some other way to keep the camera stationary, that would help with the focus on your pictures. Also, be sure to use the macro setting. This function makes it possible to catch the detail on small items like coins. The icon for it looks like a flower; at least it does on mine. I think this is universal.

Also, please crop your images in your photo editor before you upload them. That way, you can have a larger image of just the coin without the background taking up part of the 100k size limit.
